Corrosion Protection Strategies for Oil Casing
1. First, ensure water quality meets standards by strictly monitoring and managing water quality. Implement separate injection of clean and contaminated water, strengthen the cleaning of main water pipelines, ensure water quality meets standards within the station and at the well bottom, and reduce corrosion sources entering the annular space;
2. For newly commissioned water injection wells, use an annular protection fluid mainly consisting of biocide, and establish a system for regular dosing;
3. Considering that mechanical abrasion accelerates corrosion of the oil casing, it is recommended to add a rubber ring on the tubing coupling or install a centralizer at severely deviated well sections to prevent the tubing from scratching the casing or contacting it on one side during operations and water injection;
4. For severe under-deposit bacterial corrosion and slow growth or killing of SRB at high temperatures, periodically inject high-temperature water or steam at 100 degrees Celsius into the annulus to kill under-deposit SRB;
5. Before corrosion in the water injection well casing is effectively controlled, it is not recommended to promote the use of cathodic protection and coated casings.
